Gunjan Zutshi, Co-Creator


Gunjan is an organisation development consultant with over 19 years of experience. She believes that real change happens when it becomes a way of life and her role is to be a co traveller with individuals and organisations in their journey of change.

She is a certified Organisation Development and Change Practitioner from Indian Society for Applied Behaviour Science (ISABS). She is also a certified FIRO B administrator and assessor for   assessment / development centers and has done certification programs in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Appreciative Enquiry (AI). She has been on staff of Group Relations Conferences. She is a practicing psychotherapist and is currently completing her advanced training in Transactional Analysis (Psychotherapy).

She has worked with senior leadership teams for system wide interventions to build leadership effectiveness, create desired culture, vision and values, competency framework design, talent and performance management and learning & development.

She has also done extensive work with teams to enhance effectiveness and to help them explore how they work with each other. Becoming aware of team processes that might be hindering high performance helps teams deal with issues of interpersonal relationships, communications and also to increase collaboration and problem solving.

And who but individuals form the building blocks for effective teams and organisations. Helping people access their internal resources to realise their potential in current roles and contexts through one on one coaching is another area of her work.

Gunjan draws upon her extensive training in behavioural science, Tavistock approach of systems psychodynamics and transactional analysis in her work. Organisations are open systems and we need to look at the whole as well as the parts. Using the above approaches helps her explore what is really going on and to bring to surface conscious and unconscious processes that may be the road blocks to effectiveness.

Her approach for working with clients is co creative – not leading as an expert or directing and pushing from behind – but walking side by side, step by step on their journey of transformation. She enables creation of spaces through experiential interventions where people can find their own answers for change to happen. This also allows capability to be built within the system for sustainable change.

Deepak is a versatile and experienced professional with over a decade in Agile space as developer, technical expert, manager, process consultant and now as co creator of Agilesattva. Having worked for many years on Agile transformations, he firmly believes that goal of Agile is to create self sustained, self organised and self reliable systems. Its about “Being Agile” rather than “Doing Agile”.

Deepak has experience working with a wide range of companies – from large organisations like Nokia India, Societe Generale, to mid sized companies like Tarento Technologies and  start ups like Innvo Systems.

Though he has extensive experience of using Agile frameworks like Scrum and  Kanban, he believes that approaching transformation/coaching using systemic lens is more effective instead of retro-fitting the existing frameworks. He also believes that the system (team/organisation) should drive the Agile Transformation. These believes led him to develop System Driven Transformation(SDT) approach for Agile transformations along with his colleague and co creator of AgileSattva.

In his many roles over the years, he has worked across the spectrum of Agile transformations:

  • Building the models and structure for Organisation / BU wide Continuous Delivery Transformation program involving planning and execution of end-to-end transformation.
  • Organisation level strategic initiatives to sustain Agile Transformation like leadership open spaces for problem solving, Agile Coffee Club, Agile Day, focused   training for second level experts (other than coaches), setting up agile processes for support groups like HR, PMO.
  • Specialises in coaching Leadership teams at different levels during the transformation.
  • Coaching Agile coaches to build ‘presence’ and be effective in coaching the teams to sustain the transformation.
  • Coaching entrepreneurs to become effective product owners, to build MVP, provide requirements at functional level and actively engage with the teams.
  • Coaches the team to be cross functional and self organize in achieving their goals. It also involves integration of Operations team with the developers team (Devops).
  • Design and Build feature teams specific to organizational domain to reduce time to market and deliver efficiently.

His method of coaching is organic and sustainable as it proactively involves the system (team/organisation) in every step of transformation to build an effective process. He is known for experiential, reflective and activity based trainings. This involves setting up open spaces, role plays, games, discussions, role reversal, etc.

Deepak is also actively engaged with various industry bodies and has presented at conferences like Agile India, Regional Scrum Gathering and has been on review panel and organising groups of such conferences.

He is an engineering graduate in Computer Science and also has a Masters in psychotherapy. He has also undergone training in Transactional Analysis (TA) OD and is currently a CTA Trainee in TA psychotherapy. He integrates Transactional analysis (a social psychology developed by Dr. Eric Berne MD in 1970) and Agile to make the transformation more effective. He also uses Psychodrama (an action method developed by Jacob L. Moreno MD) in coaching the teams.
